On January 26, 2025, the PIA Auditorium was transformed into a vibrant celebration of India’s Republic Day, where the essence of unity, resilience, and excellence was beautifully brought to life.
This grand event, organized by the Peenya Industries Association (PIA), gathered an esteemed group of leaders, visionaries, and community members, all coming together to commemorate the nation’s progress and spirit. The event was a seamless blend of cultural expression, powerful speeches, and heartfelt tributes, creating an atmosphere filled with pride and solidarity.
The day began with a warm welcome from Shri. Shivakumar R, the President of PIA. His opening remarks set the tone for the proceedings, highlighting the significance of Republic Day as not just a national holiday but a reminder of the sacrifices made by countless individuals to safeguard India’s democracy and freedom. Shri. Shivakumar also took a moment to reflect on the values that Republic Day represents unity, integrity, and resilience and emphasized PIA’s commitment to fostering excellence in every sphere of public life. His words resonated deeply with the gathering, stirring a sense of pride in the collective journey India has undertaken since gaining independence.
A special segment of the event spotlighted several distinguished individuals who have made remarkable contributions across various fields.
Among those honored was Shri. Kashinath Rai TR, Manav Ratna Dr. PGK Nair, Dr. Jagadeesh Babu B V, and Ms. Tulsi Pai. This segment served as a powerful reminder of the extraordinary impact these individuals have had through their dedication, innovation, and leadership in their respective domains. Their work continues to inspire and shape the future in profound ways.
The Indian flag hoisting took place, symbolizing the triumph of the nation’s ideals and values. The flag was raised high amidst the sounds of the national anthem, an emotional moment that unified everyone present in a shared moment of reverence for the country.
Adding to the vibrancy of the celebration, a 3-kilometer march-past was held in the Peenya area, with students from the neighboring government schools and colleges participating in this spectacular display of discipline and patriotism. The march past, organized with precision and enthusiasm, became a focal point of the event. The students, donning their uniforms and carrying the spirit of the Republic Day celebrations, marched in perfect synchrony, proudly showcasing their dedication to their country and their community. Their participation was a testament to the youth’s active role in shaping the future of the nation.
One of the most unforgettable moments of the celebration was the Yoga Asanas performance, which beautifully highlighted the discipline, focus, and dedication of the performers. However, it was Master Nandan M Bharadwaj, just 6 years old and the son of a PIA staff member. Mrs. Divya Madhukar who stole the show. Having started his yoga training at just 5 years old, his performance was nothing short of mesmerizing. The asanas he executed were truly mind-blowing, displaying an exceptional level of skill and grace. He recently won a Gold Medal at the National Level Yoga Championship in 2025.
It was no surprise when he was honored by PIA for his extraordinary performance and also awarded a cash prize from the Gram Vikas Society in recognition of his remarkable talent.
