Peenya, one of India’s largest industrial estates, serves as a critical hub for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). However, inadequate infrastructure has long been a challenge for businesses operating in the region. Recognizing this issue, Sri Shiva Kumar R., President of the Peenya Industries Association (PIA), along with other industry leaders, engaged with government officials to push for urgent improvements.
On December 2, 2024, Sri Muniraju S., Hon’ble MLA of Dasara Halli, initiated the white-topping road construction between Jalahalli Cross and TVS Cross. During his visit to PIA, a memorandum was submitted that highlighted the pressing infrastructure needs of Peenya. The memorandum called for essential improvements such as well-maintained roads, effective solid waste management, efficient stormwater drainage, and proper street lighting. These improvements are crucial for enhancing industrial efficiency, as poor infrastructure disrupts business operations and hinders long-term sustainability.
A high-level meeting on December 21, 2024, further emphasized these concerns. PIA leaders, including Sri Shiva Kumar R., met with Dr. S. Selvakumar, Principal Secretary of the Department of Commerce & Industries (GOK), to discuss the implementation of the Peenya Industrial Township Authority (PITA), the establishment of a Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP), and the allocation of industrial plots. These initiatives aim to address environmental and operational challenges while ensuring long-term industrial growth.
Sri Shiva Kumar R. stressed the importance of a structured approach, proactive government policies, and immediate infrastructural interventions to support MSMEs. The discussions reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transforming Peenya into a globally competitive industrial hub. With ongoing collaborations, Peenya is poised to become a more sustainable and investment-friendly destination, offering a thriving environment for MSMEs to grow and prosper
