Effective communication between policymakers and small industries is crucial for fostering a supportive business environment. A recent industry interaction meeting, attended by Sri Shiva Kumar R., President of the Peenya Industries Association (PIA), and Smt. Sumita Dawra, Secretary, of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, emphasised the need to bridge this gap. The discussion focused on key labour-related challenges MSMEs face, including regulatory compliance, employee welfare, and social security contributions. Many small businesses struggle with navigating complex regulations while maintaining smooth business operations.Sri Shiva Kumar stressed that direct engagement with policymakers is essential to ensuring that regulations align with industrial realities.
The event, organized by CII-EFI, brought together key figures from the sector, including Smt. Anikita P R, Chairperson of the PIA Labour Committee, and MC Member Sri S. Meenesh Kumar. By fostering open dialogue, such interactions pave the way for more effective policies that address the unique constraints of MSMEs. The meeting with Smt. Sumita Dawra marked a constructive step toward developing a practical and supportive regulatory environment, enabling small businesses to thrive. “Continuous dialogue between policymakers and MSMEs ensures practical policies, reduces regulatory burdens, and fosters a supportive environment for small businesses to grow and drive economic progress.”
